Certificate Programs
The Canadian Home Builders' Association - Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders' Association promote numerous Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association training programs to their members and their employees, including the Small Employer Certification Recognition program, Certificate of Recognition program and Safety on Site program.
Small Employer Certification of Recognition (SECOR) Program
The Small Employer Certification of Recognition program provides a commonsense approach to reducing workplace injuries. Companies comprised of one to nine employees registered in this program are required to complete three courses that focus on the needs of the small employer. Upon completion of the program requirements, the company must successfully pass an external administrative health and safety audit. Once certification has been achieved companies are required to maintain valid certification.
Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program
The Certificate of Recognition program is designed to help companies reduce human and financial losses associated with workplace accidents. Companies registered in the COR program are required to complete four training courses that will help them develop and implement an effective health and safety program. Upon completion of the program requirements the company must pass an external safety audit administered by the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association. Once certification has been achieved, companies are required to maintain valid certification.
Safety on Site Program
Funded through the Workers' Compensation Board, the Safety on Site program is free to all within the residential construction industry wanting to understand and implement an effective health and safety program. The Safety on Site program also educates employers and employees about potential worksite hazards specific to each participating company.
