The Canadian Home Builders' Association - Saskatchewan operates a Joint Training Committee (JTC) in partnership with the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC).
The Association can indenture apprentices by acting as their employer. This service reduces the amount of administrative duties for business owners. The Association assists with indenturing apprentices, filling out the required forms for SATCC, ensuring apprentices receive the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant from the Government of Canada and tracking apprentices' trade time.
The Joint Training Committees also registers apprentices, monitors on-the-job training and assists in placing apprentices with employers. The JTC oversees the work experience of the apprentice and all other duties of the apprenticeship contract. Apprentices frequently change employers and the JTC facilitates the monitoring of their work experience and their progression through the apprenticeship system.
