When you are in the market for a new home, you should shop for your builder as carefully as you do for your home. You want to make sure that you buy from a new home builder who is committed to quality, service and customer satisfaction.
Membership in the Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) and Canadian Home Builders' Association - Saskatchewan (CHBA-SK) is an important indication of a builder's professionalism. Members include new home builders, renovators, financial institutions, manufacturers and suppliers of building products, new home warranty programs and government agencies.
Our Association is committed to quality, choice and affordability in housing. The Association consults with governments at all levels on policies, programs and legislation that affect the industry and consumers. In partnership with the private and public sectors, it promotes research and continuous innovation in materials, products and construction techniques. And it provides a wide range of education and training activities to support the ongoing professional development of its members.
The CHBA-SK is also a strong advocate of consumer education. From our HomeStyles Home Show, new home parades, publications and websites, the Association is helping consumers to make informed and confident home buying decisions.
Association members voluntarily adopt the Code of Ethics, which commits them to fairness, integrity and consumer satisfaction. When you look for a new home, look for the Canadian Home Builders' Association - Saskatchewan logo¬ - a stylized house set in a maple leaf ¬on the builder's signs, brochures and business cards. If you don't see it, ask if the company is a member.
